I was so inspired by the real life stories I heard when I went down to Hippocrates Health Institute this weekend, I have to share!
When I first arrived, this very fit guy was going around on roller blades. Since most but not all people come to Hippocrates Health Institute with a serious illness, I figured him to be a health seeker interested in prevention.
I couldn’t have been more wrong. He told me that he had just completed his first week past the date the doctors gave him to die.
Yes, that’s right. He went in to check something he expected would be minor, and was told he had cancer spreading through his lymphatic system and had 6 weeks to live. If he did chemo he might add a few weeks.
But wouldn’t he be miserable while doing the chemo?
Well, yes, they told him. Then what’s the point of adding a few weeks of misery? It just didn’t add up.
So the entire family got to work to find him a real solution and he’s been at Hippocrates Institute doing the program for 2 weeks so far. He knows he still has a lot to learn to totally regain his health, but he is strong and confident and plans to stay on a while longer and give himself the best tools for his body to heal itself he could possibly find anywhere.
Then I met Paul who came with our Oct. group. He had been at Hippocrates Institute for exactly 6 days. I could tell he was really excited as we shook hands and I was ready to find out what was going on.
He’s a young guy with his life ahead of him, but he has lost all but a little of his vision. In just 6 days he told me he has started seeing colors again for the first time in over 4 years. And he could make out the outlines of our faces.
And this is just the first week. I am so excited as I think about what his body can and will do as he continues to give it this amazing nutrition and stays away from the toxins of sugar and processed foods.
Some of the best experiences are coming precisely from the people we had the most challenging time encouraging them to go. Paul was one of them.
The other is a lovely lady named Barbara. In her own words, she went kicking and screaming to do the program at Hippocrates Institute.
It’s her husband we had spoken to over the past few months, she would have none of it. She says she would go to any doctor that would offer her a magic pill to take away her excruciating pain, but she would not believe that a few vegetables would make much of a difference.
I met her also 6 days after she arrived. She was beaming. She could barely walk with a shuffle when she arrived and was taking a lot of pain medication just to get through the day.
During the week, she gradually dropped them, and had been off them for a couple of days. And she was walking and telling me how amazing it was! So much so that when a new group member arrived the following day, not sure if it would work for her and also with a lot of pain – I introduced her to Barbara.
She obviously needed a little encouragement and who better than Barbara who was doing so well herself?
The joy I feel in seeing these amazing changes in people is why I love to help people get to the Hippocrates Institute. I do this by organizing groups and helping people save money so they can get there.
