Hippocrates Health Institute Antony Chatham Part 1

by Hippocrates Health Educator

Hippocrates Health Institute Antony Chatham answers your questions on this live call. In Part 1, Antony talks about getting on the healing path and the mind body spirit connection.

Listen to the replay of this enlightening call: we’ve broken it down into ten minute segments so you can listen and return for part 2.

Dr. Brian Clement, the Director of Hippocrates Institute in Florida, has said a number of times how crucial the mind is if you are looking to heal from an illness.

So I started the discussion here with Antony Chatham, who is one of the talented psychotherapists at Hippocrates Institute since 1994.

What is your experience of the mind’s role in healing in the 15 years you’ve been a part of the Hippocrates Institute Florida?

A key part of his discussion is managing stress and various ways to manage stress.

He explains several key areas that can be causing stress:

  1. When you’re dealing with a serious illness, the diagnosis itself becomes a cause of stress. It can be a major blockage in your ability to look at the future.
  2. Managing stress in relationships, this can also be compounded by the diagnosis of an illness.
  3. Work related stress from your occupation or business.
  4. Stress coming from the past.

Because Dr. Brian Clement knows how crucial the role of the mind is in healing, the Hippocrates Institute program (for those who attend 3 weeks) includes 2 one on one sessions with Antony or his colleague. He goes into some detail about how he helps people develop tools for stress management.

The Hippocrates Institute program also includes a half day of lecture time with each psychologist every week. Antony explains that he gives talks helping to draw your attention to the areas you want to work on. He then does an experiential session of guided meditation.

I have participated in these sessions many times and find that new things come up each time in the guided meditation. Finally, he incorporates a time of sharing your experience in the guided meditation as this expands the experience of the whole group.

In these notes, I’ve given you an outline, but I hope you’ll take the time to listen to Antony. I find that just listening to him relaxes me!

And throughout the 70 minutes we spent together there are many stress management tips that will help you right away.

I would also ask you for a favor: if you find it helpful, please use the comment section to thank Antony, as he will be reading here. Your comments and questions are also welcome as always.

  • Hi Trevor,

Of course I'll publish it - you are welcome to express your truth. I say this not in some New Age sense, but in the sense that since it is true for you, it is your truth.

Many others, including myself, have derived great benefit from sessions with Antony.
  • Trevor Maddow
This man is full of it. I personally attended lectures and two sessions with him and he did not deliver what he said he would. When he could not help, he immediately changed his initial statement of what was possible and accused me of causing the trauma I was experiencing because if I was truly open I would have been healed.
Narcissistic and arrogant. I hope this is published because it is the truth.
