I’m arriving at Hippocrates Health Institute in less than a week! I’m going with a wonderful group of people that are flying in from all over the world to do the 3 week Life Change Program.
We will be arriving Sunday, May 3, 2009. Because I live only a few hours away, I go to Hippocrates Health Institute from time to time. And it never fails that I actually feel the difference when I first walk onto the grounds.
A weight lifts off my shoulders and I breathe deeply as I feel the sense of peace and well-being that pervades the grounds.
I took this picture of one of the long-term residents at Hippocrates Institute. A whole family of raccoons were living there. They’re a little shy, but I managed to take this picture.
When we arrive Sunday, we will check in and start going into major relaxation mode, especially those in the group who are traveling long hours to get to Hippocrates Health Institute.
Then I will have my first delicious buffet meal of gourmet raw foods. I eat raw foods at home, but believe me, they aren’t nearly as gourmet. The header in this site is an actual picture of the raw foods.
Before it’s time for the get acquainted tour, I will head over to the pools. I love soaking in the therapy salt pool (they make it with salt from the Dead Sea!) and then going into the Far Infrared Sauna.
This is a great way to get a head start on detoxifying, and it feels so gooood! Next, I love to do 7 dips in the chilled pool (it’s cooled to 55 degrees Fahrenheit). Each time, I run out of it before my legs go numb and into the hot jacuzzi. When I’m warm again, I repeat 7 times. I know it helps my circulation, and most of all I love it.
On the first day there are appointments to make because so much is included in the program. I will head over to the Spa and make my massage and colonics appointments. The Doctors and Psychotherapist appointments will already have been made for me. I’m so ready.
I’ll have an 8 ounce green drink that I won’t have to make myself like I do at home. It’s half vegetable (organic veggies like cucumber, celery, kale). The other half is the supercharged nutrition from growing sprouts: sunflower sprouts and pea green sprouts.
It’s delicious and very nutritious. These drinks which are served 3 times a day, pack such a punch in nutrition and energy that I start eating less by dinner. I enjoy the wonderful buffet, and also start to find I’m not as hungry as when I first arrived.
In the evening we will learn more about the other great people who are doing this program with us, and we start to make friends – so much that we will be sad to leave at the end of the 3 weeks.
It’s the end of the first day and as I settle down for the night, I know it’s just beginning. Tomorrow I will join several of the fun exercise classes, get some treatments at the spa and attend lectures. It’s good to be here again.
