Support in living the Hippocrates Health Institute lifestyle from your family and loved ones is important.
When you’re trying to live a raw vegetarian food lifestyle, it can be challenging to live with non-vegetarians, especially when they are not very supportive of what you’re wanting to do for yourself.
Here’s an important distinction: are you asking for their support for you, for what you are doing for yourself, or trying to get them to believe what you believe?
It’s an important point. Particularly as women, we give and give and don’t often ask for what we need. If you ask for help to make it easier for you to meet your goals, particularly if you are healing from an illness, you may find your loved ones will make a big effort to make it easier for you.
On the other hand, if you are trying to convert them now that you are more educated about your health, you will most likely run into resistance. Each one is on their own journey and has to make a change when they are ready.
My entire family is now 90% on the program, but I started out to set the example rather than issuing mandates. My children are teen and pre-teen, and I believe they have to make their own decisions.
Back to asking for support: you have to be very clear on where you are and what you need to do, and ask for their help.
