Fish oil benefits fallacies and fatty acids: you talk about the body needs Omega 3 and Omega 6 because it doesn’t make them. Can you explain a little bit about the background of these nutrients?
Dr. Brian Clement from Hippocrates Health Institute: #1 it’s been fairly recently, over the last several decades that we realized one of the problems we have in western culture and specifically a lot here in the US is that people have a whole lot of fat in their body that was never meant to be there.
That’s called saturated fat and saturated fat comes from animal sources. If you eat an animal of any type be it a fish or be it a chicken or be it a pork, a swine or a cow or even so-called wild fowl or if you take their milk…
…This is saturated fat, and your body has zero need for it. Your body cannot use saturated fat so it ends up clogging the arteries and ends up distorting the functionality of organ systems etc, reducing oxygen levels which impel the growth of microbes and mutagens, cancers and bacteria, viruses, etc in the body.
With all of that said, we were not getting the fatty acids because we did not consistently take (as our great ancestors did) plant based foods. We did not receive what is called essential fats or fatty acids.
The one that we take too much of in some ways because we take corn oil and soy bean oil is Omega 6. We do require Omega 6 – as an example your hair may fall out, your brain may not function correctly, your nails may be unhealthy, your skin…if you do not have Omega 6. But the amount of Omega 6 that a lot of Americans are eating in fast foods and processed foods and potato chips, popcorn, etc. the body doesn’t need.
They’re getting a whole lot of Omega 6, but not Omega 3. It’s only a small fraction of the population that eats enough plant based foods to get enough Omega 3. Omega 3 comes in green vegetables, so let’s start with that.
Does it come in a green vegetable that you cook? And the answer is no. Once you cook the molecular structure of any oil or any fat, it bursts and it no longer is a usable nutrient. It does become something, it’s a carcinogen. We’ve known that for 50 or 60 years at this point. Any heated oils change the molecular structure and become carcinogenic because they cannot roll out and leave the body permitting what’s left behind to be Omega 3, Omega 6 or the better ones.
On top of that, if we look at the Omegas, several years ago they realized that the fresh fish industry was not doing well. If you get on the Internet you probably look up and see that the fish industry hasn’t grown well. And even though a lot of people may purport – I don’t eat meat, I eat fish, I’m a vegetarian, I eat fish – well you’re not a vegetarian if you eat fish and most people are probably lying because people aren’t buying a whole lot more fresh fish.
So they’re closet case eating meat or God knows what they’re eating out there. With all of that said, what we ended up doing is telling people in the fish industry: a great idea is to sell fish oil to people.
Fish oil, besides the saturated fat it has – the bad fat you get from animals – has some Omega 3s and Omega 6, and they spent millions and tens of millions on what I call very pointed research that had an objective and an answer before they even began to do the research, and they very successfully put this propaganda out so the light-hearted not so inquisitive “natural alternative doctors” bought it hook, line and sinker.
I was actually at a prestigious alternative medical conference in Chicago a number years ago and they had a very prestigious panel of natural alternative doctors up there, and they threw them a wonderful ball, they said tell us the most important nutritional finding in history right now. Everyone talked about fish oil benefits and I just about threw up.
The reality about fish oil benefits: although it’s been propagandized and it’s sold and your smiley face doctor, the good doctor, is telling you to take it, is a known carcinogen – it causes cancer.
Not because I say so, we go back to 50 60 solid years of heated oils, and we talk about the second problem even if you don’t heat and think sushi is a good thing – because you like parasites and amoebas I guess – you take it in its so-called raw uncooked form, it oxidizes.
Just as you notice when you remove a fish from its natural environment, water, within 20 to 30 minutes you start to have a very foul odor when the flesh of the fish starts to decompose.
The same thing is happening to the fish oil because the oil that is very well equipped to live under water with hydrogen and oxygen protecting it is not equipped to take the oxygen rich and bacterial rich environment, the atmosphere that you and I live in and are our bodies are prepared to do. So oxidized fish oil as well as cooked oil, both are carcinogens.
Here’s what causes the cancer for those of out there that say Dr. Schmohozze, the natural alternative doctor told me that fish oil is good – what you have to know is there is something called a lipid peroxide – that’s the fat oxygen that occurs through oxidation and cooking. That lipid peroxide – look it up if you have medical ways to look it up – causes cancer.
Omega 3 are important, starting with green vegetable consumption. The best known source of Omega 3 is sprouted chia seeds. A close 2nd if you live in civilized parts of the world is sprouted hemp, and less civilized at least hulled hemp seeds and then flax seeds and hopefully if you’re using them whole, sprouted flax seeds – it becomes significantly more digestible. You can also get these supplements from Hippocrates Institute Supplements.
This is the proper, good, non-cancer causing health giving omega 3 oils. Again, if you want your brain to work and function as it should throughout your life even if you live to 100, if you want your body to have enough energy to be athletic, to be sexual, to do whatever you want to do, you basically need Omega 3, to allow the functionality, the tissue development of every organ system of the body, you need the Omega 3 oils, but not rancid fish oil, please. Forget fish oil benefits!
