Wheatgrass Expert Michael Bergonzi Reveals Growing Sprouts Tips

by Hippocrates Health Educator

Wheatgrass expert, Hippocrates Health Institute’s Greenhouse Manager, Michael Bergonzi, joined us for our March monthly ASK the Expert call.

And now you have the opportunity to listen in on his unique perspective of the hippocrates health lifestyle. Plus he shares valuable tips and techniques about sprouting, and growing wheat grass from his 18+ years of experience.

You do not want to miss Michael’s engaging style and valuable information.

You’ll discover the 3 secrets to make sure you grow the best wheatgrass possible and more on growing sprouts in general.

You’ll also hear some important nutritional information: for instance, is wheatgrass powder anywhere near as effective as fresh wheatgrass? What are the benefits of drinking wheatgrass? Do you need a wheatgrass juicer to get wheatgrass juice? Or can you use a good quality vegetable machine such as the green star juicer?

All this and more was covered in this one hour call. You’ll learn all about wheatgrass powder vs. fresh, whether to use a wheatgrass juicer or the green star juicer: I actually have and use both. And more on growing sprouts: growing alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts, broccoli sprouts and of course Hippocrates Health Institute’s sunflower and pea green sprouts.

And you’ll get the details on how to save hundreds of dollars if you register for the Hippocrates In May group that I will be hosting. If you can’t wait to listen to the call, then just go over to this page with all the details.

This is just one of the monthly live calls we do. You too can be invited to these lives calls with the experts by joining the community. It’s free. So now sit back and learn about wheatgrass and growing sprouts. He makes it really simple and it is a key part of the Hippocrates Health lifestyle.

And now to listen to Michael, just use the controls below. Enjoy. And PLEASE leave me your comments.

  • Fats should comprise about 10 - 15% of your diet. I love avocados, and we eat them about twice a week. I'm not a recipe person - you might want to search around for raw dressings.

Vinegar is very unhealthy, we don't use it. Substitute lemon juice in dressings. If you do a search for Hippocrates Institute dressing, we posted the recipe of the basic dressing on a recipe site. It's my favorite, it's also contains a lot of virgin olive oil - so also high in fat.

You are correct - addressing your lifestyle should also help to address your teeth.

In addition, I learned to be more thorough in cleaning my mouth by using an inexpensive water pic and a tongue scraper.

I greatly appreciate the work that you and your husband are doing Cindy. This information realy is the difference between happiness and welbeing, or missery and suffering for all of us. IMO, Brian Clement and everyone else who spreds the awareness of the Hippocrates Institutes health knowledge are invaluable.

I've been a raw food vegan for 3 years now, and although I have experienced benifits from this diet, I have also had some growing health issues mainly concerning my teeth. I understand that our bodies are interconnected, so where I see problems with my teeth, I know that this is an indication of an underlying wholistic imbalance within my body.

I am not sure what the main causes for this are, but when I do a critical analysis of what I eat, my diet is actually quite far removed from the Hippocrates one which is a tried and true proven winner. My plan is to addopt this new diet as near as I can manage, and then sort out what I "should or shouldn't" be eating when I am truely healthy.

Could you tell me what the Hippocrates stance is on fats ? I eat avodacos, and am generally lost for salad dressings without it because I don't eat any other fats, nuts or vinegars etc. If you could share what you use for dressings as well that would be great. Thank you so much for your time and energy :)
  • Kathy,

Congratulations on your actions to take charge of your health. And thanks for your comment. Let me know how things go with the juicing, and perhaps sometime you will be able to go to Hippocrates Health Institute.

I recently started growing wheatgrass and purchased a Samson juicer to help myself and my family achieve better health. Thank You for helping me understand juiceing and its benefits more clearly. If I could afford
a visit to Hippocrates it would have been my first option.
  • Hi Judy,

Thanks for the heads up. It is now working. Enjoy, and do leave a comment after listening to it.

    Cindy
  • I wanted to listen to the replay of the interview with Bergonzi. Is it still available to hear. When I went on the website, it did not have the audio strip for me to click on. Let me know. Thank you.
